Want to do Wix email marketing for beginners but don't know where or how to start? In this Wix tutorial, I'll show you exactly how to do email marketing with Wix. Hi, I’m Marina, and I share simple tutorials for non-techie entrepreneurs as a non-techie entrepreneur.
To do email marketing in Wix, log in to your Wix account, hover your mouse over the website you wish to do email marketing for beginners on, and then click on 'select site' on hover.
If you don't have a Wix account yet, make sure to click on the link in the description box below to sign up for free. Click on 'marketing & SEO' from the left-hand side panel, and then on 'email marketing'.
Using Wix email marketing is completely free. You can benefit from lots of great features with no obligation to purchase a Premium Plan.
Each month, you can send a total of 5,000 individual emails over the course of 3 campaigns or mailings. One recipient getting all three email campaigns will count as three emails towards that total.
If you need a higher quota, you can increase your quota and number of recipients by upgrading to an Ascend Plan. Wix has a number of email marketing templates that you can choose from to engage your audience, promote your site and build your brand with email campaigns.
Up top, you can see a number of suggested Wix email marketing templates, and can even click on 'more templates' to view additional options. If you prefer, you can click on 'start from scratch' on the top, right-hand side to create a Wix email marketing campaign without a template as a starting point.
When you hover over any of the Wix email marketing templates, you can click to 'use template' or to preview it, on both desktop and mobile. Let's click on 'use this template' to access the Wix email editor.
Just like with the regular Wix editor, you can use the options that appear on the left-hand side panel of the Wix email editor to edit your email campaign. Under 'add', you can add elements, including text, image, button, divider, social, columns, logo, video, signup, link and music.
Under 'themes', you can choose a theme to add to your Wix email marketing campaign: default, light, basic, onyx, minimal, classic, tech, decorative, elegant, craft, fun, or natural. Under 'background', you can change the background to another background color, or to patterns and images, as well as click on 'customize inner background' to toggle whether you wish to show the background color or not, select that color, edit the border width and border color.
Under 'regional', you can change the display from right to left if you're creating a campaign in a right to left language. Under 'help', you can access the Wix support center specifically on how to use the Wix email marketing campaign editor.
Within the body of your Wix email marketing campaign, you can hover your mouse over any section to move it up, move it down, edit it, duplicate it or delete it. You can also click on any existing element, be it an image, text or button, and then customize it further from the options that appear on the left.
Once you're done customizing your Wix email marketing campaign, you can click on 'preview and text' on the top, right-hand side to view how your email will look live, as well as to send a test email to yourself. When you're happy with how your Wix email marketing campaign looks, click on 'back to editing', and then on 'next' on the top, right-hand side.
Choose who to send this email campaign to from your Wix contacts. You can even import contacts and manage contacts from this step if you wish.
I'm going to go ahead and select all the contacts I wish to send this Wix email marketing campaign to, and then click on 'next' on the top, right-hand side. This is where you can add the final sending details and choose when to publish your campaign.
Edit your Wix email's subject line, from name, and reply to email. Now all that's left to do is either click on 'schedule' to select a date and time when you want this campaign to be sent, or click on 'send now' to send this Wix email marketing campaign right this second.
With Wix email marketing, you're also able to create time-saving email automations. To create a new automated email, click on 'automations' from the left-hand side panel, and then on 'new automation'.
Wix will provide you with a number of automation templates that you can choose from. These include popular, sell more online, engage with clients, retain customers, get paid on time, and manage business.
You can even start from scratch if you wish, which is exactly what I'll be selecting. From here, you can edit the name of the automatic email campaign, such as to 'email automation'.
To create an automated response, first choose an app from the available options: Wix forms, price quote, invoices, Wix stores, workflows, member's area, pricing plans, spaces by Wix, bookings, or inbox and chat. I'll select 'invoices', and then select a trigger for this app, which can be: invoice is overdue, invoice is paid, invoice is sent, customer starts recurring payments, or recurring payment is canceled. I'll select 'invoice is overdue'.
Now let's choose 'send an email' as the follow up action. You can then customize your sender details, and create your email by editing the template, just as we did before. Lastly, select the timing for this email automation: including the time (either set custom time or immediately) and frequency (don't limit - trigger every time, once per contact or once per contact every 24 hours).
If you wish, you can upgrade your Wix Ascend plan to turn this into a multistep automation. To make this email automation live, click on 'activate' at the bottom.
