To access the Wix AI website builder, head over to Wix and then click on "Create New Site." Make sure that you click on "Build on the Wix Editor" at the bottom if you're using Wix Studio. When you click on that button, you'll be prompted to bring your ideas to life with AI. Tell Wix about the site you're creating and get a personalized dashboard with everything you need to manage it. Go ahead and click on "Start Chat."
The chatbot will say, "Hi, let's get started with your site setup. First, tell me what your site is all about." You can either click on "Help Me Answer," "Skip Question," or "End Chat and Continue". If you already know the answer to this question, go ahead and write your answer in the space provided.
I'm going to click on "Help Me Answer." Now, Wix will give me some suggestions for how to answer. The chatbot said, "How about describing the products or services your business offers?" In the space provided, I'll say, "My business is called Yes to Tech, and I create online courses and digital products targeted towards non-techie online entrepreneurs."
The chatbot now said, "Great, it sounds like you offer valuable resources for online entrepreneurs. What are your top priorities for your website at the moment?" I'll type in, "My top priorities are promoting my YouTube videos that I publish once a week, my blog posts that I also publish once a week, and selling my online courses."
The chatbot now said, "Understandable. What is the main goal of your website?" If you're having trouble answering that question, again, click on "Help Me Answer." The Wix chatbot will now give you some suggestions for how to answer that question. The suggestion is, "What do you hope to achieve with your website?" I hope to get more email subscribers, YouTube subscribers, and online course sales.
The Wix chatbot now said, "Got it. Do you have any specific design or branding goals for your website?" To answer this, I'll say, "I like a minimalist style that is attention-grabbing. My brand colors are dark blue and yellow."
The chatbot now said, "Got it. Minimalist and attention-grabbing with dark blue and yellow. Can you tell me a bit about your brand history?" My company was founded in 2017. The owner's name is Marina. I am a non-techie entrepreneur myself. I created my business out of my own necessity.
The chatbot now said, "You're all set. Next, let's go to your personalized dashboard where you'll find a tailor-made set of steps to get online faster, the best template selection to fit your needs, and customized text and images generated just for your site." Before we click on "Go to Dashboard," you can see over here on the right that Wix came up with the site profile.
We have our brand name, Yes to Tech, a suggested tagline, "Empowering online entrepreneurs one course at a time. Dive into tech with Yes to Tech," as well as the site type: online course program site, apps, bookings, pricing plans, online programs, online stores, and blog. Goals include selling products, promoting my business, collecting leads, increasing social media engagement, and improving customer support, as well as the target audience: online entrepreneurs, tech enthusiasts, and aspiring content creators.
Now, let's go ahead and click on "Go to Dashboard" to see what the Wix AI website builder came up with. Wix now redirected us to our personalized dashboard. Apps, text, and images were generated by AI based on your answers. You can start designing your site or follow the set of steps below. The set of steps includes updating your site type, connecting a custom domain, reviewing your generated products, finishing setting up your services, setting up shipping and delivery, setting up payment methods, designing your website, and getting found on Google.
If you wish to start designing your site, click on "Design Site" up top. You can then choose how you'd like to design your website—either generate a design with AI or customize a template. Since we're reviewing the Wix AI website builder, let's generate a design with AI. Wix AI is generating Yes to Tech, our online course program site. Once the site is ready, you can click on anything you want to change in the brief to adjust the content and design.
Here is the brief based on your site profile: Yes to Tech, your online course program site, will have a site structure that includes one page. Its content will be generated based on your site description. Your site theme will feature modern fonts and a sleek, professional design in shades of blue and gray. Its layout includes grid lines and strokes with a mosaic-like style. You can either click to regenerate the site if you don't enjoy how it looks, or click on "Make it a little different."
Let's first click on "Regenerate Site" and see what the Wix AI website builder comes up with this time. If we take a look at the site brief, it maintained the site structure as well as the site description, but changed the site theme to bold fonts and a techy design in high-contrast black, yellow, and white. This time, its layout includes a sophisticated design of overlapping elements.
Let's say that I want to make it a little different. This time around, it maintained the same site brief but changed what the website looked like. If you wish to go back to another version of the Wix AI website design, you can click on these arrows up top to access version two or version one. You can also click on the word "Version" to click on the version history.
Let's say that I most enjoyed version three of the Wix AI website builder design. Let's click on "Continue with this design" at the bottom. You can either complete the site with your own domain by giving your site a more professional look and feel with a branded domain name, or continue to the editor or set up your business.
I'm going to click on "Continue to the Editor." Now that you've been redirected to the Wix website editor, you can click on "Add Elements," "Add Section," "Pages and Menu," "Site Design," "Add Apps," "My Business," "Media," or "CMS" to further customize each element. You can also click on "AI Tools" on the bottom left-hand side to find AI tools to complete and launch your site faster.
These include the options to improve this page by creating text for the page, as well as the option to explore more AI tools, such as the "Text Creator," which helps you create content and place it anywhere you need it; the "Section Generator," where you get a ready-to-use section with text and images for any page on your site; and the "Theme Assistant," where you let the theme assistant help you find the perfect look for your site.
Let's go over each one. Let's first click on "Create Text for Page." With this option, all you need to do is add a few details and have AI write the text for this page. In the space provided, type in what the text should include, such as "Talk about website creation, branding, and traffic generation for non-techies." You can then select the tone: professional, enthusiastic, casual, confident, funny, or other. Let's select "Enthusiastic" and then click on "Create Text." The Wix AI will then write your text.
As you can see over here, this text includes everything we asked the Wix AI text creator to include: "Get ready to embark on an exciting journey with Yes to Tech, where we're passionate about helping non-techies thrive in the digital world through our innovative online course program. Dive into a world of creativity, branding, and website creation tailored for entrepreneurs like you."
Let's click on "AI Tools" again and this time on "Text Creator." The text box will appear, and then within the AI text creator popup, you can let AI create custom text for you. To start, describe the text you want or choose from the suggestions below. We can click on the "About Section," "Welcome Section," "Service Description," or on "See More" to see other options such as tagline, title, product description, or contact section. Or, if you already know what you want the AI text creator to create, just type it in the space provided.
Let's click on the "About Section." It already added a prompt: "Write a four-sentence about section for Yes to Tech, an excellent online course program." Mention... and then you can include the information to include in the space provided. Let's say, "Mention that we were founded in 2017, and it's a hub for non-techies by non-techies."
As you can see, the Wix AI text creator came up with the text: "Welcome to Yes to Tech, an innovative online course program founded in 2017. We're dedicated to empowering non-techies with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in the digital world. Our courses are designed by non-techies for non-techies, ensuring a relatable and accessible learning experience. Join us on this journey to unlock your potential and embrace technology with confidence."
You can then click to either like this text, dislike the text, copy the text, or use the text in the text box. You can also click up top to switch the default tone to something else. This tone of voice can either be casual, professional, enthusiastic, confident, funny, or the default tone. You can change this anytime.
Let's go back to the AI tools section and this time click on Section Generator. With a section generator, all you need to do is add a few details, and Wix will generate a unique, ready-to-use section. You can select the section type, such as About, Welcome, Services, Contact, Team, Features, Promotion, or Subscribe.
Let's click on Services, for instance, and then select what the text should include: online courses about traffic generation, website creation, and branding. Then, click on Generate Section at the bottom. Once your AI sections are ready, all you need to do is choose your favorite one and add it to your site.
The Wix AI section generator came up with three options. Let's just click on this first one over here, and if we scroll down, you'll see it automatically added it to our site.
Let's click on the AI Tools option again on the left-hand side panel and this time click on Theme Assistant over here. Here, you can chat about your site theme. You can ask the Wix AI anything or try one of these ideas, such as "Change Colors," "Suggest Fonts," or "Explore Featured Themes."
Let's click on Suggest Fonts. The theme assistant is asking you what type of site you have. Let's say it's an online course business. The theme assistant then said: "Great choice! For an online course business, fonts that are clean, modern, and easy to read are usually recommended. Here are some font suggestions that would work well on your site."
It then proceeded to offer us four font options: Monserat, a clean and modern sans-serif font that is easy to read; Lato, another popular sans-serif font that is clean and professional; Roboto, a versatile sans-serif font that is easy to read on screens; as well as Open Sans, a friendly and easy-to-read sans-serif font.
If you'd like, you can ask the theme assistant to open the panel for you to apply the font selection. Let's say "Yes, please." The panel has been opened, and then all you need to do is customize the text theme by adding one of these fonts. Over here, we can change the heading font to Montserrat, for instance, and the paragraph font to Roboto.
Once you're done creating your Wix website with the Wix AI website builder, go ahead and click on Publish on the top right-hand side to make your changes active.
