How To Delete Wix Account | How To Delete Your Wix.com Account - Deactivating Wix Account Tutorial

In today's video I'm going to be sharing with you how to delete a Wix account permanently. This video idea was requested by Tips Arman Would. I already published a video on 'how to unpublish and delete a Wix website', I left the link to it in the description box below, but this one specifically is for those of you who are tired of using Wix, and wish to delete your Wix account permanently.

To delete your Wix account, you'll first have to cancel or transfer any premium plans or domains connected to your site or sites. To cancel a Wix premium plan, click on your name in the top, right-hand corner, and then on 'subscriptions'. Click on the three little dots next to the website that you want to delete the premium account of, and then on 'cancel plan'. If your domain is registered with Wix, these are the same steps you'll follow to delete it.

To transfer your Wix services instead, go to your site's dashboard, click on 'site actions', and then on 'transfer site'. Enter the recipient's email address, and fill out the 'Transfer Ownership' form. This is also where you can select the additional services you want to transfer. Click on 'next' and review and confirm the transfer details, and then click on 'Transfer Ownership'.

If your domain is registered with Wix, you can transfer your domain separately, either to another Wix account or to another domain host in the 'My Domains' section. Since my domain is registered with GoDaddy rather than with Wix, it doesn't show me those options. Instead, I can remove it from my account by clicking on the 'advanced' tab and clicking 'remove domain from Wix'. To remove it permanently, click on 'remove domain' to confirm.

Once you've either canceled or transferred any premium plans or domains connected to your site or sites, you'll have to move any sites remaining in your account to the trash. After you've completed all of these steps, make sure you're signed in to your account, and click on the link in the description box below to close your Wix account. Click on 'Close Wix Account Now' and then on 'Yes' to confirm.

Just as a side note, you must cancel your Premium services and Wix domain, and wait for them to expire before you can close your account. For example, if you purchased a yearly Premium Plan, you must wait until the yearly subscription is over before you can close your Wix account. Regarding domains registered with Wix, once you cancel your Wix domain subscription, you must wait until it expires, is past the redemption period and is no longer registered to then close your account. This process can take up to 80 days.
