How To Add Gradient Color To Text In Canva

To add gradient color to text in Canva, either open up an existing Canva design or click on one of the options up top to open a new Canva design, such as an Instagram post. Once the Canva editor opens up, click on "Apps" from the left-hand side panel and then click on the search bar and search for "TypeGradient." Once that option populates, click on it.

With TypeGradient, you're able to add gradients to texts and make your designs pop with beautiful gradients. Click on "Open" to get started. Up top, you'll be able to see the position of the text. If you scroll down, you can then type in what the main text says. Let's type in "How to Add Gradient Color to Text in Canva."

If we scroll further down, we can then select the font. Let's choose this Arbor 123 font. You can also change the alignment and view a preview of what it looks like up top, as well as adjust the line height. You can make the line height smaller or larger.

At the bottom, you can change the gradient colors. You can choose three colors to add to your design and change the positioning of said colors. Let's first choose a red color. Then, let's choose a yellow color, and lastly, let's choose a pink color. You can also add a new color by clicking on the Color Picker and choosing another color of your choice.

If we scroll up top, we can then reset the position of the gradient by moving this Color Picker around, as well as the other one. You can make a diagonal color gradient, for instance. Once you're happy with how your gradient color looks, scroll down and click on "Add to Design."

As you can see over here on your Canva design, your color gradient will now be added to the text. You can then resize and reposition it just like with any regular Canva design. You can also add new elements to your design, such as shapes, graphics, stickers, photos, and videos to customize it further.

Once you're done editing your gradient color text, rename your design up top—let's call it "Gradient Color to Text Demo"—and then click on "Share" on the top right-hand side. Click on "Download," edit the download settings if you wish, and then click on "Download" again at the bottom to save the gradient color you added to text in Canva to your computer.
