Many of you wonder ‘how much money does a small YouTuber make?’, so in today's video I'm going to be sharing with you how much money I’ve made on YouTube so far with less than 2000 subscribers. Monday actually marked the 3 month anniversary since I’ve been monetized on YouTube, so today I’ll be taking you behind-the-scenes of my analytics to show you my results so far.

In order to be monetized on YouTube, you need to achieve two metrics: 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of watch time. Although I started my YouTube channel back on March 15th 2018, so almost two years ago, my channel took a while to start growing and get monetized.
My posting schedule back then wasn’t consistent, I didn’t know how to optimize my videos, and I didn’t have a strategy. I only reached the 1000 subscriber mark on August 19th 2019, so almost a year and a half after starting my YouTube channel.
But, having 1000 subscribers isn’t enough to be monetized on YouTube. You still need the 4000 hours of watch time. It took me about 3 more months to achieve those 4000 hours on November 5th 2019, and by then I had 1400 subscribers.
YouTube says that after your channel has achieved the 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of watchtime metrics, it may take a month or so for you to start receiving ad revenue. But since I already had accepted the YouTube Partner Program terms, connected my AdSense, and set my monetization preferences, I actually started receiving ad revenue on November 10th 2019. That very first day, I received $2.39.
So now let’s go over some standout metrics since I started being monetized on YouTube. I made my first $100 on YouTube on November 20th, so 10 days after I started being monetized, and in the month of November, or at least for the 20 days that I was monetized, I made a total of $233.95.
I started off December with 1528 subscribers. By December 10th, so exactly 1 month after I started being monetized on YouTube, I made a total of $375.72, on December 29th 2019, I made my first $100 from a single YouTube video, and in the month of December I made a total of $416.05, which is a 44% increase compared to the previous month.
I started off January with 1661 subscribers. By January 10th, so exactly 2 months after I started being monetized on YouTube, I made a total of $794.29, on January 23rd, so about 2 and a half months after I started being monetized, I made my first $1000 on YouTube, and in the month of January I made a total of $493.80, which is a 16% increase compared to the previous month.
I started off February with 1834 subscribers. On February 6th, I made $24.25, which is the most money I made in one day on YouTube so far. By February 10th, so exactly 3 months after I started being monetized on YouTube, I had 1928 subscribers, made $177.52 so far in the month of February, and made a total of $1321.31 on YouTube.
So there you have it. Now you know how much money a small YouTuber makes in the first 3 months of being monetized on YouTube with less than 2000 subscribers.
