Create Stunning Whiteboard Animation Videos FAST with Canva AI

We'll be using Canva to create whiteboard animation videos with AI. To get started, log into your Canva account. Click on the search bar within the Canva homepage and search for "video." Once that option pops up, click on it and then click on "Create a blank video."

To create handwriting animation videos with AI, we first need to add to this design the elements we want to animate. Let's go ahead and add text and then click on "Heading." Say that we want to create an animation video showing how to create whiteboard animation videos in Canva. Let's go ahead and type in "Whiteboard Animation."

You can use the white panel up top to change the font of this text, the size of the text, as well as any other settings that you wish. You can also reposition this text so that it's at the very top of the page and centralized.

Now, let's click on "Elements" on the left-hand side panel and search for "Whiteboard." You can either include a graphic, a photo, or a video. For the purposes of this video, let's locate where it says "Graphics" and then click on "See all." I enjoy this whiteboard graphic over here, so I will click on it and resize and reposition it so that it's in the location of my choice on this page.

Now, let's click on the plus button at the very bottom to add another page to our whiteboard animation. Let's click on text again, on "Subheading," and then write out "This is how you do it." Again, feel free to change the font of the text, as well as the font size and any other font settings of your choice. I'll also reposition this so that it's at the very top of the page and centralized.

Now, let's click on "Elements" again, and this time, let's search for a hand. Make sure that Graphics is selected, and let's choose this one over here. Resize and reposition it so that it's in the location of our choice, and let's also add a marker graphic. Resize and reposition it, and let's send this backward to make it look as if the person is holding the marker. Perfect!

Once you're happy with how your whiteboard animation is looking, click on "Share" on the top right-hand side. Click on "Download" and make sure that PNG is selected, that all of the pages you wish are also selected, and then click on "Download" at the bottom. A zip file will be created with each page as a separate image.

Now, let's head back to our video file and delete all of the elements that we added. Let's click on this very first page, click on "Apps" from the left-hand side panel, and then click on the search bar up top where it says "Search Canva apps" and search for an app called "Speed Paint." Once that option populates, click on it.

Now, let's go ahead and upload our image by clicking on "Choose file." Select the appropriate folder and image, and then click on "Open." You can see over here on the left the image preview. To animate our image into a speed paint video, let's select the overall smoothness, either 30 FPS, 60 FPS, or 120 FPS. I'll select 60 FPS.

Add the sketch duration, which can be from 1 second all the way up to 40 seconds. I'll make sure that 5 seconds is selected. Select the color fill duration; this can be either 0 seconds all the way up to 30 seconds. I'll make sure that 0 seconds is selected, and then choose the hand style, either no hand style or one of these four available options. I'll select the last one and then also toggle this box to add a fade-out effect.

Make sure to connect your account if you haven't done so already. Once you have logged in, make sure that you're also subscribed to Speed Paint in order to use it. Speed Paint offers two pricing models: you can either pay $6 per month if you select a yearly plan or $9 per month for a monthly plan.

Once you have subscribed to Speed Paint, go ahead and click on "Animate image" at the bottom. It may take a while for Speed Paint to turn your image into speed painting. Once the animation video has been finalized, you'll see a pop-up saying that Speed Paint has successfully uploaded the media to your library. The animation will also appear on your page. You can either click and drag to resize the image so that it fits the entire page, or right-click on it and then click on "Set video as background."

Now, let's click on the second page over here and repeat the process to animate the second page that we created and add a whiteboard animation to it. Again, let's click on "Choose file," select the appropriate image, and then click on "Open." Select the overall smoothness, sketch duration, color fill duration, and hand style, and then click on "Animate image" at the bottom. Speed Paint will turn your image into speed painting, and once the video has been finalized and the animation has been added to your graphic, you can then click on it, right-click on it, and click on "Set video as background" to complete the whiteboard animation.

Now, let's click on the "Preview" icon on the top right-hand side to view what this whiteboard animation video we created with AI looks like. Once you're happy with your whiteboard animation, click on "Close," and then on "Share" on the top right-hand side. Click on "Download," make sure that the file type is selected to MP4 video, that all of the pages are selected, and then click on "Download" at the bottom to successfully create your whiteboard animation videos with AI, specifically using Canva AI.

You can now share this handwriting animation video that you created with AI anywhere you wish!
